Day 205
Isaiah
9:6-7 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And
the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There
will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the
throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it
with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal
of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.
It
was a "Routine Week" for David - BUT, "Routine" is good!!! Though the
week was not completely routine - David "journeyed" to a neurologist's
office this Wednesday for a checkup - it was quite an ordeal, for David
and for Jenny. Jenny left home at 7 am to go to the nursing home to get
David
ready to travel to the doctor's office by non-emergency transport. They
left at about 8 am and arrived at 8:30 am. BUT the doctor didn't arrive
until 10 am!!! (he was trapped in some sort of traffic delay) And then
he was pressed for time because he was behind schedule. Jenny finally
got David back to the nursing home and in bed by 12:30 pm. AND, David
had
a 102-103 degree fever the whole time!! Nothing major to report this
week. The Neurologists decided to ween David off the anti-seizure
medication over the next six weeks or so. Hopefully this will enable
him to be more interactive. Pray that he won't have any seizures or
other medical problems. Pray for his Spiritual encouragement and
growth. Please pray for his tonality to decrease and his speech to
return. We continue to work on our house renovation. Some friends from
Augusta are coming this weekend to install a new, larger, more
efficient heat pump for our downstairs which will also heat and cool
David's new room/bath/closet. People are so kind and helpful. Another
friend who is a contractor is estimating the bathroom renovation
so that we hopefully can receive some grant money to pay for that
renovation. Pray for our strength and encouragement. Thanks for your
prayers, notes, e-mails, letters, cards, financial help, construction
help, and a thousand other kindnesses.
Matthew
1:18-23 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother
Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was
found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. And Joseph her husband,
being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send
her away secretly. But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of
the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do
not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been
conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. “She will bear a Son; and you
shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their
sins.” Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord
through the prophet: “BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL
BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated
means, “GOD WITH US.”
