Psalm
12:1-3a To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, in You I trust,
Do not let me be ashamed; Do not let my enemies exult over me. Indeed, none
of those who wait for You will be ashamed;
Some
of you know that we were to have a video interview with the Shepherd Center
this morning. Due to my non-engineering brain, it did not happen. Hopefully,
we are set to try again at 11:00 tomorrow morning. We are pursuing this because
the Roger C. Peace Center here in Greenville will not accept him at this
point and we think the sooner we can get him into therapy the faster he can
progress.
His therapists at the nursing home continue to push him to work harder. This
morning, Tony wrote things on the dry erase board and David read them and
answered questions. He wrote Hillcrest High School and asked David if he
went to school there. David answered ‘no’ by raising his leg. Then Tony wrote
Riverside High School on the board. Same question. David answered ‘yes’ by
tapping Tony’s hand with his finger.
We continue to be encouraged by your prayers and notes on the guestbook.
When I wrote recently about the wheelchair seat belt, one of David’s teachers
wrote us the following note (which tells you a little of his personality):
"Dear Spears Family, I continue to lift Dave and all of you up to the Lord
daily. Dave's most recent progress is truly amazing! The fact that Dave was
unbuckling his seatbelt reminds me that when Dave was in my class a couple
of years ago, he wore a real car seatbelt as his belt for his pants...we
all talked about his "belt" on several occasions." Jude
1:24-25 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you
stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only
God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion
and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
