Day 303

2 Peter 1:5-13 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body,

It has been an event-filled week for the Spears in many ways. David and Jenny were involved in 2 video-conference calls between Summit Place (where David is now) and the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. We are pursuing having David re-admitted to Shepherd Center in Atlanta since Roger C. Peace here in Greenville only wants to admit David for 2 weeks of rehab and that only when we are finished with his room modifications (more on that later). We strongly believe David would benefit greatly from more agressive and longer term rehab and hope that Shepherd Center will provide it. David continues to do well and make small progress in a variety of ways. We continue to work on the renovation of the house to bring David home. I was "on vacation" this last week and Daniel was on Spring break. We made a great deal of progress and I hope we are ready to pour concrete on Tuesday in David's room. I am "on vacation" again this next week. Please pray for us during this very busy time. Pray for Jenny as she continues to care for David, be his advocate and try open doors for his future treatment. Pray for David that he will continue to improve physically and mentally and Spiritually. Pray for Robert to have wisdom, skill, and strength to complete David's room and the other modifications. Pray that the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs will give us the grant for David's renovations this week. We hear that the process has reached its last stage and hopefully they will make a favorable decision this week. Please pray that the Shepherd Center will take David for intensive rehab. Thank you all again for your friendship, your prayers, your help, your notes and e-mails, meals, and a thousand other kindnesses. With these, these past 10 months would have been almost unbearable.
