Day 366

1 Samuel 7:12 "Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”

Jeremiah 29:11-13 ‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."

Today marks one year since David was injured. We praise and thank our God for His provision and kindness to us in many ways over the past year. By the work of His Spirit and His people, He has provided for all our needs and we have seen remarkable things in David's life. One year ago the neurosurgeons and other doctors were not even sure that he would survive the night. David has made remarkable progress in the past few days. His arms are being progressively cast so that he has a wider range of mobility. Even his left arm, which he has had little to no control for the past year, he can now extend to about 120 degrees open. He continues to eat small amounts of a variety of foods, and we are hoping that he will "graduate" to nectar-thickness liquids from his current "honey-thickness" liquids, and then hopefully to thin liquids. Please pray for his continued improvement in range of motion of arms and legs and hands. Pray that he will be able to eat greater amounts of foods and liquids. Please pray for his Spiritual well-being. He is also scheduled for a orthopedic consult on the stiffness in his left knee - please pray that his joints will not "calcify" and thus be incapable of bending.

He is currently scheduled to come home this Thursday (May 27) - his room, bath, closet and hall are almost ready but we still need to do a great number of "punchlist" items and to pass all the inspections (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building) so we can get the occupancy permit. Please pray for us as we work feverishly to complete the suite.

We have purchased a conversion van to be modified for David. We are waiting on bids for the modifications hope to have the van fully modified soon - pray that the contractor can modify the van quickly so that we will have it to take David to outpatient care. Please pray for us as we complete a thousand details to provide for David's care. We want to thank our family, friends, and others who have helped us in many, many ways during the past year. May our Lord repay your kindness out of His boundless storehouse of mercy and grace because of the person and work of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ!!!

Romans 11:33-36 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, OR WHO BECAME HIS COUNSELOR? Or WHO HAS FIRST GIVEN TO HIM THAT IT MIGHT BE PAID BACK TO HIM AGAIN? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
