Day 215

Matt. 1:18-23 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated means, “GOD WITH US.”

Well, our first Christmas after David's accident is fast approaching. His condition has not changed much though he continues to gain weight. We are also reducing the amount of anti-seizure drug that David receives since he has not had a seizure in over 4 months. We plan to reduce it to zero over the next few weeks. We hope this will enable him to be more interactive since this medication has a sedating effect. Good news, the nursing facility is providing transport service for David tomorrow (Christmas Day) so that he can come to our home for about 4 hours tomorrow. Please pray that all will go well and that he won't have a extreme temperature swings. David continues to look better and better as he gains weight and as the scars from the accident heal. We also received word from Dr. Sidden's office that David is scheduled for his next eye reconstructive surgery on February 2. David's hands and arms are much more relaxed than they have been in the past. Please pray that our God will give him complete relaxation from the "tonality" in his muscles. Thank you all for your cards, letters, gifts, and help. Please continue to pray for David and for us as we work to renovate our home. A special thanks to our friends Morgan and Fernie Faulk and Pool and 3 other friends and family who installed a new heat pump in our house that has the capacity to heat and cool David's new "apartment" as well as the rest of our downstairs. Merry Christmas to all!!

Christmas Day Update: David had a "day trip" to our house in an ambulance at about 11 am and stayed until about 4 pm. - He seemed to really enjoy it and interacted with many family members (cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents) and many friends who stopped by. We hope to make the "trip" permanent in a couple of months when the renovation is complete. Please pray diligently for him to regain control of his arms and legs and the ability to speak. Pray for his and our Spiritual well-being and growth. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you all!!

Phil. 2:3-11 "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

 "Praise the Lord!!"
