Day 279

Psalm 103:1-14 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle. The LORD performs righteous deeds And judgments for all who are oppressed. He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel. The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.

David had Botox injections Wednesday. Dr. Fatianov injected his neck and shoulders as well as his right arm near the inside of his elbow. Unlike what I saw in Atlanta, she said that it would be 10 to 14 days before she expected noticeable results. She is recommending that he be admitted to Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital in two weeks. This hinges, I suppose, on bed availability. As usual, whenever David has an appointment, he has to be transported in “non-emergency transport” (an ambulance without lights and siren). One of the EMTs who took us for his injections is the granddaughter of one of our church members and she has been praying for David and keeping up with his progress through her grandmother!!

Going backwards a little, several of David’s therapists have reported evidence of increased awareness. His physical therapist, Myrna, said that she got him to "shake" her hand when she asked. Also, when she was working with him, he had a muscle spasm (which means that he tightens up all his muscles). She asked him to relax himself and he did.

Many of you always ask about progress on "the room." All 5 bids have been submitted and the advertisement ran in the paper. Now the paperwork is in Columbia. So we wait for final approval and notification of how much financial help we would receive. This may take longer due to 2 factors. Our caseworker is out of the office until Tuesday and now all state offices are closed today and probably tomorrow due to a record-setting snowfall. Meanwhile, we continue to decide on and acquire termite treatment, concrete pouring, vinyl flooring, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, etc. We are also completing projects in the rest of the house, including, but not limited to replacing windows and siding, replacing inside window trim, replacing the roof and skylights, replacing rotten porch railing, and repairing walls where new ductwork was run for the expanded HVAC system. Most of these changes were precipitated by the garage conversion project.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
