Day 156
John
3:3-7
Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one
is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him,
“How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time
into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “Truly,
truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he
cannot enter into the kingdom of God. “That which is born of the flesh
is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be
amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
”
David
seems to continue to improve slightly, day by day. Jenny and I
want to thank all those who have journeyed to Simpsonville to visit
with David. We believe those visits are key to David's improvement. He
really enjoys interacting with visitors. Please don't be discouraged if
David wasn't very responsive when you visited (he has good times and
less good times every day.) David seems to REALLY enjoy visits from
pretty young ladies (surprise, surprise!!) David's sister Rebekah was
with him
this weekend when a former girlfriend stopped by to visit - Rebekah
said that he tried VERY hard to talk to her, but no words would come
out. Some have asked about David's temperature swings - he continues to
have daily temperature fluctuations but they are not as bad as
previously, usually only to 100 or 101.
Jenny and I continue to work toward getting David home - we are working
with an architect friend to design a renovation of our garage into a
bedroom, bath, and closet for David and then to add a new garage at the
end of our house. What a mess!! Please pray for David's continued
improvement (make sure to thank our Father for
his many blessings to us so far), please pray for all the details of
the renovation project. Thanks for your prayers, your notes, your
financial assistance, and your love.
Hebrews
4:12-16 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any
two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and
spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and
intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His
sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with
whom we have to do. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who
has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast
our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize
with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we
are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the
throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in
time of need.
