Day 198

Psalm 40:1-3 Psa. 40:1-5 "I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD. How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood. Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.

David had a very good week overall!! He continues to gain weight, seems to have less gastro-intestinal problems, doesn't seem to have much pain, is looking more like himself (though still skinny). I wanted to share what a girlfriend wrote to us after visiting David – "I thought that I would share some information with you that has brigthened my day. I went to go and see Dave today and he was seriously the best I have ever seen him, and he was really awake. I pulled up the brown chair and sat with him and pointed to him at the picture and pointed at me and I was reminding him about prom and everything. I told him about how much fun I had and I swear he began to smile and then he picked up his leg. Its really encouraging to come and have him respond so poistively. I just thought I would tell you that because it made me so happy." David also was visited and "carolled" by the senior highs at our church. They are convinced that he smiled at them! Please pray for his doctor's appointment with a neurologist on Wednesday (David is being transported to his office and Jenny is riding in the ambulance - pray for her too!) I (Robert) was on "vacation" this week and worked on our house renovations to bring David home - we have gutted the garage to the studs and joists and have sold the garage door. I really appreciated the help of Arie and Greg van Eyk this week (their parents let them have a homeschool course in "home construction" (or better "deconstruction"). We also received news this week that the Department of Social Services MAY be willing to financially help us in the building of David's new bathroom. We just have to get 5 bids and advertise it in the newspaper. Please pray for David's healing, our diligence and wisdom, for the glory of our Lord Jesus!! If you live in the Greenville area, please visit David - read and pray and sing with him. Thanks!!

Psalm 116:1-9 I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live. The cords of death encompassed me And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow. Then I called upon the name of the LORD: “O LORD, I beseech You, save my life!” Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate. The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. Return to your rest, O my soul, For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. For You have rescued my soul from death, My eyes from tears, My feet from stumbling. I shall walk before the LORD In the land of the living."
